Fundamental Hoops was formed in September of 2008 for two main reasons. Fed up with the lack of organization, communication, poor facility choice, and quality product by organizations and tournament directors, Fundamental Hoops was formed to run basketball the right way.. Below is a list of what NOT to worry about at a Fundamental Hoops Event:
1. Teams, coaches and parents should not have to worry about a tournament being canceled last minute due to lack of teams when you were told previously otherwise.
2.You should not have to walk into a gym where the quality of the facility is not up to par.
3. Teams should not have to wait until two days before the tournament to find out what their schedule is.
4. You should not have to worry about a change in facility location when the schedule is released.
5. A team should not be worried about the team they are scheduled to face showing up.
6. There should not be schedule changes once it is posted. Forcing to coaches to contact teams on game time changes is not right.
7. Coaches should not have to go running around looking for someone on their team to do the clocks.
8. Return phone calls and emails should be responded in a timely manner (24hrs)

The 2nd reason Fundamental Hoops was formed: Some basketball directors forget that basketball is still about the kids. Fundamental Hoops is a Non Profit organization where portions of the proceeds from each tournament are used to help sponsor kids in need of financial assistance for spring AAU. The AAU season is quite costly and kids should not be at a disadvantage of not being able to play due to financial reasons.
